A: Don’t let the name limit your thinking. Bike Iowa City explores trails and routes all over Johnson County, Iowa. Including Coralville, North Liberty, Tiffin, Solon, and many points in between.


Q: I have a great idea for a ride. Can I share it with Bike Iowa City?
A: Yes! We are constantly adding new adventures and we can only do that with submissions from cyclists. You can share your adventure by filling out a short form.


Q: I’m not from Iowa City, but want to visit and ride. Where do I start?
A: Start by taking a look at our adventure routes. They are categorized both by type of ride (Paved, Gravel, Mountain Bike/Off Road, Fat Bike, and Cyclocross) as well as by skill level (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). Q: I’m driving. How do I get to Iowa City?
A: Located at the corner of I-80 and I-380, Iowa City is an easy drive. Just a 4-hour drive from Chicago, St. Louis and Omaha, and 5 hours from Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Kansas City, Iowa City is the ideal cycling destination in the Midwest.


Q: Iowa City sounds amazing. I’m going to fly there with my bike. What airport options are there?
A: First of all, we agree. It’s amazing. Secondly, if you are flying commercial, the Eastern Iowa Airport is just 20 miles away. The Quad City International Airport is 60 miles. The Des Moines International Airport is 100 miles. If you are flying private, the Iowa City Municipal Airport may be your go to.


Q: Are there any bike shops I can browse?
A: You better believe it! You can find a list of both local and chain bike shops under Resources.


Q: I’m hosting a cycling event. Can you add it to your calendar?
A: Yes! We are always looking at adding events to our calendar. As long as the event originates or ends in Johnson County you can share your event by filling out a short form.

Q: Where can I find out current status of off road trails?
A: Iowa Coalition of Off-Road Riders (ICORR) has an active Facebook group where people post regular trail updates. They also have a 24-hour hotline you can call at 319-248-1255.
