UnPark Yourself: Alternative Transportation Breakfast

The University of Iowa College of Engineering Staff Advisory Council is hosting an UnPark Yourself: Alternative Transportation Breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, near the bike parking outside the Seamans Center. The event lines up with Bike to Work Week festivities around the Iowa City area. The purpose is to raise awareness about ways other than a personal vehicle to commute to work, such as public transit, biking, walking, van pool, and 380 Express. These other methods can lead to more physical activity, savings in gas and parking, reduction in your environmental footprint, and combatting congestion on the roads. All are welcome, but using alternative forms of transportation on this day is encouraged. The free event is intended as a “pit stop” grab-and-go breakfast on your way to work. The College of Education, Campus Safety, and UI Parking and Transportation are also participating in the event. More details to come!
