Meet Trevor.

Hey! I’m Trevor. I am a technology specialist for a credit union in a small town just outside of my hometown of Duluth, MN. When I’m not on the clock, I’m goofing off with my doggy Shiva, scouring the local thrift joints for vinyl and wool, or on my bike!

My mom got me on a bike when I was pretty young, and as soon as she trusted me out on my own, I was all over town on my coaster brake Huffy, jamming playing cards in the spokes and learning the fine art of steering with one hand on the handlebars and the other holding a 42oz ICEE.

While living in Sacramento, I picked up a fixie for commuting to the office and fell in love with the freedom of exploration that you can only get on a bike, but after moving home to the famously hilly city of Duluth, biking went on ice until last winter, when I was finally able to afford a fattie (with gears) to play around all over town with.

Favorite place to ride in Bike Iowa City

Two way tie between the pirate trails behind Terry Trueblood (bring along a sixer and something to sit on to enjoy the view of the river), and the Quincy Rd gravel route out to Solon (a really great ride that’s right on the cusp of being challenging for a rookie like me without kicking my butt, and if the gorgeous eastern Iowa countryside isn’t enough, there’s beer in the middle at the OG Big Grove!)

Bike organizations you're involved with

I volunteer very occasionally at the Bike Library (@bikelibrarian), but am always telling anyone who will lend me their ear what an integral part of our community they are! The team over there is so committed to making cycling in Iowa City more accessible and equitable for all.

You're ready for some grub after a ride. Where will we find you?

In line at Da Flava Unit (@daflavaunit1) for a huge plate of chicken and a tall boy from the adjacent Liberty View Wine and Spirits (@libertyviewwineandspirits) and then over to Wild Culture (@wildculturekombucha) to wash it down with some of their exceptional booch (if you folks are reading this, please bring back the smoked watermelon)
