Meet Reyna.

Reyna found cycling as a way to destress, enjoy nature, and spend time with a close friend — and it quickly became much more. What keeps her pedaling today is the community she’s discovered and the physical and mental benefits that come with getting outside and moving her body.

Cycling has taught Reyna to slow down and savor the journey. She loves that the Iowa City area offers trails in every direction — many of them paved — making it easy for anyone to get out and ride.

Reyna brings a welcoming, people-first approach to biking. She loves striking up conversations with fellow riders and is the first to invite someone on a ride around the city. Knowing that joining a cyclist can feel intimidating — from worrying about pace to skill level — she proudly opens the door for riders of all backgrounds and abilities.

As an ambassador, Reyna hopes to help others find the same sense of belonging, joy, and community that biking has brought into her life.

Favorite place to ride in Bike Iowa City

Clear Creek Trail (I love that it’s been extended)!!

Favorite cycling event in Bike Iowa City

My favorite bike event has got to be Cranksgiving. It was nice to see all the folks come out in their bikes and support the community. I loved seeing the ranges in age, from babies in their trailers to elders dropping me! Lol I loved it all. (I just signed up for Ragbrai so I am excited to participate for the first time in 2026.)

You're ready for some grub after a ride. Where will we find you?

Find me at Big Grove or El Señor Cactus with Horacio and BIC 🙂
