Jacob is a champion of the “limited car” lifestyle, often seen navigating Iowa City on his longtail e-cargo bike with his daughter in tow — singing, waving to trail users, and adding joy (and blue streamers) to every ride. When he’s not hauling a kid or groceries, he’s out exploring gravel or spinning laps at Ice House or Woodpecker, all without leaving the city limits.
What Jacob loves most about biking here is the culture that surrounds it — from marquee rides like core4, Monday Night Gravel, and Sugar Bottom Wednesdays to smaller gems like Iowa City Coffee Outside and Tuesday Vice rides that bring people together simply to share time outdoors. For him, cycling is transportation, recreation, and community all rolled into one, and as an ambassador he hopes to help others find that same sense of connection and everyday joy on two wheels.

Favorite cycling event in Bike Iowa City
Core4 is my favorite big event, but I most look forward to the Coffee Outside Thursday morning meet-ups. Starting the day with coffee and conversation in a park is wonderful.
