Meet Innes.

An Iowa City native, Innes has been riding the local trails for as long as she can remember. A lifelong cyclist, she quickly earned a reputation among classmates as “the girl who bikes everywhere.” Now a medical student at the University of Iowa, she spends her limited free time on two wheels — a practice that does wonders for her physical and mental health. “There’s something about the wind whipping past my ears and leaning into bends that makes me feel free on both a physical and a spiritual level.”

As an ambassador, Innes hopes to spotlight the many ways to ride in the Iowa City area — whether you’re using your bike as a reliably safe way to get around town or dipping your toes into mountain biking and off-road trails (as she is!), there’s something here for every rider.

Favorite place to ride in Bike Iowa City

I love the Iowa River Corridor Trail — it’s convenient, it’s beautiful, and it’s long enough to make for a little afternoon adventure!

Favorite cycling event in Bike Iowa City

The yearly Ride 4 Youth fundraiser for UAY. Last year’s expanded event, Farm Cycle 4 Youth, was even better because it combined two of my passions — biking and food!

You're ready for some grub after a ride. Where will we find you?

I love me some Big Grove fries and a Citrus Surfer after a long day (biking or no biking).
